This handbook published by the European Resettlement and Integration Technical Assistance Project (EURITA) provides a resource for volunteers who are mentoring refugees or refugee families. The book provides essential information about mentoring, understanding who refugees are and how a mentor can help refugees adjust to life in a new country.
The handbook provides volunteers with explanations of the major needs of refugees settling in a new country, accompanied by detailed, practical advice and instructions on how the mentor should approach these needs as well as the issues that may arise in the course of the mentoring relationship.
The EURITA project helps practitioners to guide refugees and asylum seekers in their integration process. The project identifies key lessons from the refugee resettlement programme of the United States and works with European practitioners to implement successful strategies for refugee integration.
